The inn itself is the perfect spot for discovering the coast and countryside of north Northumberland and Scottish Borders. Northumberland is home to more castles than any other county in England – as well as the ruined splendour of Lindisfarne Castle, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Chillingham, Norham and Alnwick – made famous as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films – are within easy reach.
